Tom Woiwode 2025

The compassion of a nurse, optimism of an entrepreneur, and the passion of a teacher...
Tom Woiwode

Pronounced like the sentence
"Why would he?"

Why Would He?
Washington needs serious people, and the folks of District 1 in South Georgia deserve a serious person. I've cared for the sick and injured as an R.N. in a regional trauma center, taught thousands of real estate students the path to becoming an entrepreneur, and employ and work with hundreds of people in my businesses. I have signed the back of a paycheck and the front of a paycheck.
I am you.
I'm raising my family, going to work, fighting the high prices, and trying to figure out how my children and grandchildren will ever achieve the American Dream. I want for you the same things I want for my children and grandchildren, and now is the time to do something about it.
So, why would he?
There are seasons in life - and I've reached the season in my life where I can make a difference. I am battle tested and proven. I can speak the language of real estate, development, healthcare, technology, planning and zoning, and manufacturing. I can bring my life experiences to Washington and put them to work for all of us.

Meet Tom, pictured with his wife Christy.

Let's start with the name Woiwode. It's pronounced like the sentence "Why would he" - said fast with emphasis on the "Why". More on that later...
Tom Woiwode is a lifelong public servant, entrepreneur, and community builder guided by a simple principle: leadership begins with service. Whether in healthcare, business, or local planning, Tom has consistently put the needs of others first—listening, supporting, and taking action to strengthen the communities he calls home.
Tom was born and raised in the farming town of Manito, Illinois, where he learned the value of humility, hard work, and helping others from his father, a contractor, and his mother, a dedicated homemaker. At 12, he moved with his mother to Peoria, where he later earned his nursing degree and began a career centered on compassion and care.
His calling to serve led him to the frontlines of healthcare, starting in Savannah at Memorial Health’s Trauma ICU and Emergency Department in 1988. As a traveling ICU nurse, Tom worked in hospitals across the country—from Dallas, Palm Springs, Sacramento, Long Island, and Orlando—supporting patients and teams in some of the most demanding environments. Returning to Savannah for graduate school, he met and married Christy Farmer. Together, they’ve built a life rooted in service—to their family, their businesses, and their community. Continued HERE.
